Our residential home, Alan Morkill House, is nestled near the serene North Kensington Memorial Park, offering a tranquil setting for our elderly and dementia residents to thrive. With 49 bespoke studio flats, we've designed a space that fosters a sense of community and belonging. Our home is just a stone's throw from Ladbroke Grove and the vibrant Portobello, providing easy access to local amenities and services.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Provide day-to-day care for residents, delegating tasks to nursing and care staff as needed.
  • Offer clinical supervision to Registered Nurses, ensuring they maintain the necessary clinical competencies to meet resident needs.
  • Act as a Shift Team Leader, providing overall supervision and development for care staff.
  • Contribute to the training of care staff and other team members, serving as a role model at all times.
  • Participate in personal and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Monitor, audit, and review the service, taking corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership and professionalism, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Home Manager with formal supervision and appraisal of staff members, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Implement and adhere to Gold Care Homes' policies and procedures, legal requirements, and relevant codes of practice.
  • Support effective recruitment, performance management, and deployment of staff to deliver high-quality care and support outcomes.
  • Liaise with maintenance contractors and other stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of property, plant, and equipment.
  • Promote the service and Gold Care Homes through effective communication with stakeholders, including residents, staff, relatives, medical professionals, and the local community.
  • Ensure all staff focus on excellent customer care, enhancing the lives of our residents and Gold Care Homes' reputation.
Person Specification
  • Knowledge and Experience:
    • Excellent understanding of regulatory responsibilities as a Deputy Manager.
    • Strong knowledge of high-quality, person-centered care and support principles.
    • Ability to manage a budget and negotiate with suppliers.
    • Experience with clinical assessment tools and care planning processes.
    • Leadership experience, including shift management and staff supervision.
    • Experience working in care homes and with individuals with dementia.
