Pet Trade Sales Professional

**About the Role**
We are seeking a skilled Pet Trade Sales Professional to join our team at Cavendish Maine. As an experienced account manager and business development professional, you will be responsible for managing, nurturing, and building on our established customer base in the South East of the UK.
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience working with pet stores and garden centres, with a proven ability to open new accounts, extend ranges, win additional retail space, and grow sales territories. They will possess excellent negotiation and presentation skills, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with pet shop owners using a consultative sales approach.
In this role, you will inherit an established business base and be targeted to achieve sales growth within these accounts while also prospecting for new, suitable retail customers. Your duties will include actively prospecting for new stocklists, providing training and education to retailers, owners, and sales assistants, creating eye-catching product displays, and reporting against your sales plan on a weekly basis.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage and develop existing customer relationships to drive sales growth
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and pursue them through effective prospecting and sales techniques
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure long-term relationships with key clients
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve targets and meet business objectives
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar sales or account management role within the pet trade industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to close sales deals and manage conflict resolution
- Able to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines
**Salary:** Up to £45,000 per annum + bonus + hybrid company car.
