Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at Warwick District Council. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a key role in providing assurance on the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of audit assignments, ensuring timely completion and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and implement risk-based audit plans, identifying areas of high risk and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of internal controls, processes, and systems, providing assurance on their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior auditors, promoting professional development and growth.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) or UK chartered accountancy body (CCAB) membership.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, with a strong understanding of risk-based auditing and systems-based auditing.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
