We are seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager to join our team at Integral UK LTD.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned technical professional to take on a leadership role within our engineering team. As a Senior Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the site-based engineering team to deliver exceptional results in line with our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Operate all systems within the facility with expertise, effectiveness, and efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing concise technical reports as needed.
  • Control all activities related to the technical and efficient operation of installed building systems, including MEP assets and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to prepare and approve Specialist Vendor visits, ensuring seamless coordination with site Facilities Managers.
  • Provide backup support as engineering relief cover during emergencies, which may require temporary shift work.
  • Attend weekly operations meetings and client meetings as requested, maintaining open communication channels.
  • Assist the Account Manager in compiling the Monthly and Quarterly Engineering Report, highlighting significant events or activities.
  • Prepare information for inclusion in the Integral/JLL monthly Engineering reports, showcasing key achievements and challenges.
  • Ensure the accuracy and currency of the asset database, monitoring utilities usage and reporting any abnormalities or energy savings to the client.
  • Manage onsite critical spares, maintaining a site stock register and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Compile critical incident and near-miss reporting, conducting after-action reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Proactively communicate technical/legislative updates to the engineering team, ensuring effective implementation and adherence.
  • Maintain minimum levels of resourcing onsite, arranging suitable shift covers/resources when required, including ONWH support for critical works.
  • Participate actively in the site escalation process, providing on-call support during emergency response requirements.
  • Promote a "Safety First" culture within the team, adhering to JLL's Cardinal Rules of Safety.
  • Collaborate with the Account Manager and Millennium UK & USA team members to achieve 100% Critical Facilities Uptime, driving Operational Compliance and Risk Management standards.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in critical environments, such as banking HQs and data centers.
  • An Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND, or equivalent qualifications.
  • C&G Pt. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeding.
  • 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation.
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling interaction with diverse levels of staff.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and direct a small team of engineers and supervisors.
  • Proactive approach to achieving the highest standard of operation, possessing good IT and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm, clear-thinking, and delivering services to clients within given time constraints.

About You:

  • A strong technical understanding of installed MEP systems and contingency procedures.
  • A proactive approach to coaching team members to ensure consistent capability within the team.
  • Familiarity with administrative requirements of the Millennium London contract and Integral/JLL processes and procedures.
  • The ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  • Enthusiasm, proactivity, diligence, and alertness, with a willingness to participate in internal training programs.

Benefits:

Integral UK LTD offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience, ranging from £60,000 to £80,000 per annum.
