Perioperative Specialist

Job Summary
The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team in the delivery of care for patients undergoing cardiovascular interventional procedures in the cath labs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care delivery according to changing health care needs and varying levels of complexity.
- Collecting, collating, evaluating, and reporting information, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Providing sedation to EP/Pacing patients, with training provided.
- Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met, providing skilled assistance to the operator and anaesthetist during cardiovascular interventional procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients and carers/relatives.
- Recognising and responding appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, participating in out-of-hours emergency procedures.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- ODP/Anaesthetic module qualification.
- Anaesthetics and recovery qualification.
- Post-Registration qualification or evidence of further study related to peri-operative practice.
- Teaching and mentorship experience.
