Senior Energy and Emissions Specialist

This is a senior position within our team, supporting the Energy & Emissions Manager in the provision of energy transition services to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Energy & Emissions Manager in the development and delivery of energy transition commitments, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company targets.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory bodies, and other relevant organizations, to influence and collaborate on energy transition risks and opportunities.
- Providing input and advice on asset lifecycle energy transition requirements and considerations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company commitments.
- Coordinating and determining greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions forecasts to inform the net zero strategy, development opportunity scenario analysis, and business planning.
- Providing briefings and advice to management on emerging risks and opportunities in the energy transition sector, as well as interpretation of relevant legislation and industry guidance.
Requirements
- Relevant degree-qualified environmental science or environmental engineering professional with extensive industry experience.
- Member of a professional body, with ongoing CPD and working towards Chartered status.
- Experience working in a team with oil and gas operating assets, wells, and project developments in an environmentally related role.
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across the business and HSES team.
- A self-starter, willing to take a flexible approach to work requirements, with an ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficient level of experience in areas such as greenhouse gas forecasting, management, and accounting, data analysis and reporting, global sustainability standards and frameworks, and environmental legislation.
