Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role will involve coordinating new design concepts through to full production, planning and controlling changes in the manufacturing process, and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously reduce costs, material, and labor throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate new design concepts through to full production.
  • Plan, coordinate, and control changes in the manufacturing process to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement programs.
  • Liaise with customers regarding technical specifications and design for manufacture.
  • Responsible for workshop layouts and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Produce build drawings, workshop procedures, and record modifications/improvements during development builds.
  • Design and oversee the build of jigs, tooling, and fixtures to improve manufacturing.
  • Undertake any other duties or training as required.

  • Ensure work is completed to meet the requirements of ISO, Industry, and Wrightbus standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum HND (or equivalent) in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or related subject.
  • Relevant experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience in problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience in a coach building or automotive environment.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Computer literate.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Auto-Cad or Pro E experience.
  • Team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willing to work overtime.
  • Access to transport.
  • Good time, disciplinary, and attendance record.
