About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Assistant to support our students with additional needs in Stornoway Primary School.

Job Summary

This fixed-term position is for 7.16 hours per week, term time only, and offers a competitive salary of £44,000 - £44,000 per annum, inclusive of the Distant Islands Allowance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff in providing education, personal care, and welfare needs for children with additional support needs (ASN).
  • Undertake playground and lunchtime supervision to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote inclusivity and provide a supportive learning environment for all pupils.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, either as a parent or in a professional capacity.
  • An understanding of basic child needs and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, cheerful personality with a flexible and caring approach.
