Mechanical Bias Engineer

Aqumen Business Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Bias Engineer to join our team in Low Moor, Bradford. This permanent, full-time position offers a salary of £33,000-£38,000 per year.
Job Description
The successful candidate will have proven mechanical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. They should possess basic electrical knowledge and understanding of safe working practices with 3-phase and single-phase systems. Additionally, they must be able to safely isolate machinery and electrical panels, identify and diagnose electrical components, and fault-find electrical issues. Essential skills include hands-on experience with pipework, valves, sensors, bearings, and belts, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience with steam and compressed air systems is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general mechanical maintenance including repairing and replacing drive belts, chains, bearings, valves, sensors, and maintaining steel pipework.
- Work with pneumatic conveyancing of material, managing ducting, diverters, switches, sensors, and fans.
- Maintain steam systems, including boilers, steam generators, steam control systems (PRV's), and water softeners.
- Ensure electrical safety while working with 3-phase and single-phase systems, demonstrating awareness of safe working practices, and identifying and diagnosing electrical components.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven mechanical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Basic electrical knowledge: Understanding of safe working practices with 3-phase and single-phase systems, ability to safely isolate machinery and electrical panels, and identification and diagnosis of electrical components.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance, including pipework, valves, sensors, bearings, and belts, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
