Offline CNC Programmer

Location: Burnley

Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 07:30-16:30, Fri 07:30-12:30

The Role:

This role is for a global precision engineering company at their HQ in Burnley. As an Offline CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining programs for various manufacturing processes. You will be utilising software packages to produce programmes for batch work.

  • Using various CAM packages including SmartCAM and GibbsCAM, you will create, implement, and maintain programs for various manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiently using Creo (ProEngineer) to interrogate models for complex machined profiles on milling, turning, and turn/mill machines.
  • Developing programs and methodologies for various manufacturing processes using specific and bespoke software.
  • Estimating product costs for sales and assisting with compiling machining time for quoting for new work.

The Candidate:

  • Experienced in offline programming for batch work.
  • Practical engineering apprenticeship completed.
  • Previous engineering production/manufacturing role with significant experience post-apprenticeship.
  • Proven track record of using computer software packages to generate CNC programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering tooling for manufacturing components.
  • Ability to understand various machine and process protocols (ideally Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • Ability to validate generated software programs and make productive modifications for continuous improvement.
