About the Role

Welcome to this SEN Teaching Assistant position at GSL Education, where you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives.

This is a rewarding role that involves working closely with class teachers to deliver lessons tailored to students' individual needs.

You'll be part of a dedicated team that provides support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mixed secondary school setting.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students receive the best possible education.
  2. Provide dedicated support to students with SEN, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  3. Foster a supportive atmosphere, encouraging students to engage with their learning and develop essential skills.
  4. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the senior leadership team to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  5. Assess students' work and provide constructive feedback, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  6. Support classroom discipline and manage student behavior in line with school policy.
Requirements
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have a Level 4 or higher qualification.
  • Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs, such as ASC, ADHD, MLD, and SEMH.
  • Passion for working with young people to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Confident in delivering pre-planned lessons and interventions.
  • Able to manage behavior in line with school policy.
  • Hold a Child-only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
