Pharmacy Technician Medicines Management Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician Medicines Management. We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take on this challenging role.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide Medicines Management services at ward level. This will involve supporting medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients, assessing patients' own drugs, and coordinating the supply of discharge medicines.
Main Duties- Ensure the safe, effective, economic, and timely delivery of Medicines Management services.
- Support medicines optimisation at ward level, including assessing patients' own drugs and medicines reconciliation.
- Work with the Pharmacy Technician Specialist (Medicines Management) to develop and maintain the medicines management service at ward level.
- Provide original pack dispensing, counselling patients about their medicines, and coordinating the supply of discharge medicines.
- Support the induction and training of staff, including Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, and Trainee Pharmacists.
We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience:
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 or equivalent.
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Significant post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
