Job Title: British Sign Language Communication Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) Communication Support Worker to join our team at a Further Education College in North East London. The successful candidate will support 17 deaf learners on a 36-week program, commencing in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide communication support to deaf students in various lessons
  • Utilize high BSL vocabulary to meet the needs of the students
  • Work collaboratively with the college staff to ensure the needs of deaf students are met

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 3 BSL qualification (Level 4-6 desirable)
  • Experience working in an educational setting with deaf students
  • Candidates with a BTEC qualification in Communication Support Work will be at an advantage
