About the Role

At Taylor Woodrow, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing tenders and reviewing documents of information as part of our tender/project strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate quantity take-off as required;
  • Support the engagement of designers during the tender phase;
  • Manage supply chain enquiries and analyze quotations;
  • Issue material/equipment buying to Supply Chain colleagues, and analyze quotations;
  • Complete base pricing in the approved estimating system;
  • Ensure that pricing reflects the requirements of the Supply Chain, Materials and Plant Suppliers;
  • Ensure pricing aligned to delivery programs and the methodology and productivity that the planning and engineering teams have agreed;
  • Price alternative designs, methods, and programs to promote Taylor Woodrow's innovative and competitive edge;
  • Support with Client negotiation meetings as required;
  • Review the suitability of the Price Adjustment for Inflation mechanism and assess any under/over recovery provision;
  • Price Tender Risk and Opportunity Schedule;
  • Review tender evaluation criteria and develop winning strategies;
  • Price the Fee % in accordance with the Finance Instructions;
  • Prepare tender review documentation for TG3 and TG4 (pricing);
  • Price tender settlement adjustments;
  • Prepare Risk Committee documentation as required;
  • Complete pricing submission documents;
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification or HNC;
  • Experience in construction and ideally rail;
  • Fully competent with carrying out measurements, takes-off, and first principle calculations;
  • Fully competent with package analysis following initial tender enquiries to ensure no scope gap;
