About the Role

The Bodleian Libraries are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Visitor Experience and Retail team as a Visitor Experience and Retail Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, promoting our products and services, and contributing to the overall success of our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors from a variety of backgrounds, delivering key messages and supporting the operational requirements of the library.
  • Work in both shops and ticket desks to contribute to the ongoing success of the department.
  • Participate in product training sessions and follow operating procedures and cash handling regulations to ensure shop and site security.
  • Act as the institution's ambassador, remaining friendly, approachable, and welcoming at all times.
About You

We are looking for a self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with previous experience of working in a shop floor sales or Visitor Experience role. You will have an interest in history and heritage and be able to provide support in all day-to-day operational tasks under the supervision of the Duty Manager.
