As a Strategic Proposal Development Manager at Telent Technology Services Ltd, you will be responsible for leading and developing winning bid strategies in partnership with the opportunity owner and business heads. With a strong background in proposal development, you will produce high-quality material from the Go/No Go stage through to deal review, bid submission, and win/loss reviews.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with the Sales team, Subject Matter Experts, and Technical and Commercial leads to develop compelling written and financial responses.
  • Deliver efficient end-to-end management and production of timely, high-quality bids and proposals in line with Telent's bid procedures.
  • Promote improvements in the quality of bids and proposals, ensuring that best practice approaches to developing and producing bids and proposals are always pursued.

You will have a strong understanding of the bid process and be able to continually monitor costs being incurred by the business throughout the bid process and seek on-going measurable improvements in Telent's return on bid investment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing bid-winning strategies in partnership with the opportunity owner and business heads.
  • Producing material from the Go/No Go stage through to deal review, bid submission, and win/loss reviews.
  • Post-bid submission support including preparation of bid presentations.
  • Supporting the Programme Director with workload planning, bid forecasting, cost, and win/loss tracking and reporting.
  • Bid and proposal reviews - won and lost - including recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring Telent's bid wiki (Bid library) is updated and maintained with information from bids you have led.
  • Sharing lessons learnt with the bid teams.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of delivering successful bids and proposals in a services or solutions environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including experience of using ITT Quality response writing skills and ITT Cost response financial skills.
  • Experience of a bid team, driving efficiencies, reviews, and continual improvement ultimately leading to an improved Bid/Success conversion rate.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering high-value bids.
  • Financially astute with the ability to create and interpret financial reports and models.
  • A proven ability to write and 'Red Review' answers to tender questions to a winning standard.
  • Demonstrable experience of winning as part of a high-performing and efficient bid team.
  • Proven experience of leading and delivering high and medium-value bids, ideally in a services or solutions environment.
  • Demonstrable intellectual capacity to develop and deliver simple solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to present, persuade, and influence at all levels via strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Experience producing bids and proposals to the private and public sector in an environment such as Communications Service Provider, Higher Education, Defence, and Emergency Services markets.

The salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, and includes a range of benefits including a company vehicle, 34 days holiday, plus the option to buy or sell five days each year, a company pension scheme, a range of family-friendly policies, occupational health support and wellbeing Portal, discounts on Cinema, Restaurants, and Shopping with Telent Reward scheme.
