Automation Systems Specialist

**About the Role:**
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance and Automation Professional to join our team in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our automation systems.
**Key Responsibilities:
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor and maintain our automation systems to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Preventive Maintenance & Inspections: Perform routine maintenance on automation, robotics, and control panels to prevent downtime and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Escalation: Identify and resolve technical issues with our automation systems, escalating complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system performance and maintenance activities using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Collaboration with Contractors: Work closely with external contractors to ensure projects are completed to specification and meet our quality standards.
Requirements:
- Hold a degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in continuous production environments.
- Extensive knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities for technical issues in automation systems.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budget.
