Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a leading Therapeutic Education Service in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with learners, providing curriculum-based support both in the classroom and through home tuition, outreach, and outdoor activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and support learners to achieve learning objectives
  • Prepare and deliver learning materials to support learners' needs
  • Track progress and address any barriers to learning
  • Engage with families to ensure a holistic approach to education
Requirements:
  • Passion for SEND and commitment to supporting learners with complex needs
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a SEND environment or similar educational setting
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification advantageous

The provision is a co-educational school that provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 5-17. The school caters for pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour. The school supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental wellbeing needs.
