About MAGIC AI
MAGIC AI is a pioneering in-home health coach that leverages cutting-edge computer vision, connected weights, and 3D cameras to provide personalized training sessions led by world-renowned athletes. We have gained recognition and exposure, being stocked in high-end retailers, featured on prominent television programs, and listed as one of the world's most innovative companies. With a small team, our company achieved a substantial revenue rate during its first financial year.
MAGIC AI is the industry leader in offering users the opportunity to perform exercises in front of an intelligent hologram mirror. Our proprietary computer vision software enables real-time form correction, rep counting, and live feedback, resulting in a fully customized workout experience. We have also collaborated with top athletes to create exclusive workout content, revolutionizing the way users can be trained in sports, strength training, yoga, dance, and more. With us, individuals can benefit from personalized tracking and feedback, as if being privately coached and corrected by the world's best, without the hefty fees typically associated with personal training.
We have secured venture capital funding from prominent multi-billion-dollar VC funds, who have also invested in well-known companies and notable founders and angels from leading technology firms.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to take ownership of QA across all aspects of our organization, spanning from the mirror application to the computer vision form tracking, workout content, and ideally hardware. Currently, most of these responsibilities are managed by our Chief Product Officer, with whom you will collaborate closely. Our small team consists of highly accomplished individuals, each having achieved prior exits. You will find this role to be highly fulfilling.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of QA for the mirror application, admin web app, computer vision form tracking, workout content, and ideally the hardware (mirror, bench & dumbbells).
- Introduce shift-left testing practices to embed quality and testing principles throughout the entire development process.
- Perform manual testing to detect and reproduce bugs throughout the mirror software application.
- Integrate regression testing, functional testing, exploratory testing, and other valuable practices into the QA process.
- Assist computer vision engineers in conducting manual testing of our ReflectAI tracking in various scenarios to ensure accuracy of rep counts and form feedback. This involves exercising.
- Work together with the content team to watch and manually test new workout content to guarantee adherence to quality standards and objective criteria.
- Thoroughly inspect a mirror from each new shipment to ensure it aligns with the specifications set by our Chief Product Officer.
- Help ensure smooth and regular releases of new features with little to no bugs, coordinating and communicating with developers.
- Opportunity to potentially assume a leadership role as the QA team expands.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a QA engineer within a startup or high-growth environment.
- Familiar with mobile and web app testing, including usability principles and best practices.
- Ability to design comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to each aspect of the product.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and test management solutions.
- Outstanding communication abilities, particularly in effectively and clearly explaining technical concepts to non-technical individuals and in writing detailed test cases.
- Meticulous and thorough in paying attention to details.
- Process-minded and able to create resilient processes.
- Experience collaborating in Agile Scrum teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Able to work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting.
- You don't have to be a regular gym-goer, but you should be passionate about developing technology that will revolutionize how people exercise.
Nice to Haves
- Experience conducting QA testing for physical products, not just software.
- Product-minded with a good understanding of how to build products.
- Previous experience or knowledge as a developer is advantageous.
- Passion for fitness, ideally with experience testing fitness products and working out.
Benefits
- Competitive salary.
- Share Options in the company.

- Flexible Home/Hybrid Working from our London HQ (At least 2 days WFH per week).
- Mental Health Wellbeing support.
- Hardware budget for brand new Macbook or other.
- Professional learning & development budget.
