About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Thornford Park Hospital in Thatcham. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hospital's services and facilities are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of hospital facilities, including buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits to identify and report any faults or defects.
  • Liaise with contractors and manage maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Participate in a 1-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance and repairs.
  • Support the facilities team in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Good DIY skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
