About the Role

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council seeks a skilled and motivated Security Patrol Officer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services, ensuring the safety and security of Cardiff's communities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 24/7 CCTV and alarm coverage to various council buildings, as well as conducting community-based patrols and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, responding promptly to alarms and incidents while maintaining effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough building patrols, identifying potential risks and reporting any findings to management.
  • Work collaboratively with the CCTV control room team to ensure seamless incident response and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents, including investigations and outcomes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in the security industry, although not essential; we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in using technology to complete tasks and reports.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time permanent position, working 28 hours per week. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, depending on business needs. The role also involves remote working, with regular site visits to conduct patrols and engage with stakeholders.
