Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controls Analyst to join our Finance team at esure Group.

As a Financial Controls Analyst, you will be responsible for managing our financial control framework, identifying and addressing potential control issues, and ensuring compliance with professional standards and governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform the Finance Risk Champion role, promoting a culture of risk awareness and control within the Finance department.
  2. Support the finance control framework, fostering consistent high standards of financial good practice and enabling early identification and effective management of potential issues/risks.
  3. Test business controls, prepare remediation action plans for failed controls, and liaise with the business to document processes and prepare process flow charts.
  4. Track and supervise the outcomes of internal and/or external audits and reviews, and prepare Finance control MI reports regularly or on an ad hoc basis to meet business needs.
  5. Engage with finance and business leaders to advocate for and communicate good financial control practices, ensuring appropriate actions are taken when vital.
  6. Support the Regulatory Reporting and Financial Reporting teams when requested.

Requirements

  1. A recent qualification in a professional accounting qualification, such as CIMA or ACCA.
  2. An understanding of controls and their application in an insurance environment.
  3. High standards in both written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Intermediate digital literacy.
  5. Good problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Skills

  1. SOX, internal, or external audit experience.
  2. Knowledge of general insurance accounting.
  3. Sophisticated digital literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
