About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Officer to join our team at Birmingham City Football Club plc. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Job Description

  • To support the development of a strong health and safety culture across the club and promote good health & safety behaviors.
  • To have extensive knowledge in health and safety legislation and best practice to assist with compliance and continuous improvement of health and safety practices at the club.
  • To support the development of measurement systems to ensure that health and safety performance are accurately monitored.
  • To liaise with employees, subcontractors, and suppliers on health and safety matters as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the first point of contact for all health and safety related queries for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • To compile and review all health and safety related documentation, such as risk assessments, safe systems of work, COSHH, etc.
  • To use relevant health and safety data (accident reports, RIDDOR reporting, etc.) to generate reports to assist with creating a safe environment for all staff and stakeholders.
  • To work with the HR department to maintain and support health and safety training needs for all employees and volunteers.
  • To keep up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent H&S qualification.

Experience

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Experience of undertaking health and safety assessments and audits.
  • Relevant and up-to-date experience of health and safety.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive 20 days annual leave (rising by 1 day per completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days), plus 8 statutory bank holidays.
