Environmental Advisor / Specialist Job Overview

AtkinsRéalis is a prominent global engineering and design consultancy recognized for its expertise in managing intricate infrastructure initiatives. The Sustainable Land & Resource Management division within AtkinsRéalis boasts a well-respected, award-winning team proficient in environmental and engineering endeavors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Environmental Advisor / Specialist to become part of our team in the North East region. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in contaminated land assessment and demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional geo-environmental consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Phase 1 Desk Studies, verification documentation, and permit submissions.
  • Overseeing remediation and earthworks while coordinating with Contractors.
  • Managing digital data utilizing tools such as PowerBI and GIS.
  • Planning and organizing site operations, including health and safety documentation.
  • Creating conceptual site models and conducting risk evaluations.
  • Managing personal workload to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Readiness to work outdoors at client locations or sites.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with land contamination and brownfield site challenges.
  • Willingness to travel across the North East.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
  • Experience in site-based work related to contamination and brownfield land.
