English Teacher for Students with Special Needs

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Greenwich. The ideal candidate will have a recognized teaching qualification and experience teaching English at the secondary level, as well as a passion for SEN and inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated English lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEN students, promoting progress and achievement.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, working closely with the SENCO and other support staff.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing timely feedback and adjusting teaching strategies to ensure every student can thrive.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, confidence, and a love for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and external specialists to provide holistic support for students with SEN.
  • Engage with parents and carers to discuss student progress and support strategies.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (QTS) and experience teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Previous experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.
  • A passion for SEN and inclusive education, with the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
