Children's Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with Learning / Physical disabilities, complex health needs, and autism in a Children's Residential service in Leek.

About the Role
  • Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker in Health and Social Care
  • Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 (depending on qualifications) PLUS plenty of overtime available
  • Location: Leek
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children, protecting them from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide all aspects of care, including personal care
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes
  • Keep on top of household chores, such as cleaning and doing laundry
  • Deal with challenging behaviors when needed
  • Support the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
  • Support poor behavior safely and sympathetically
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives
Requirements
  • You must be willing to carry out personal care duties
  • Ideally, be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time
  • You must be an empathetic and relatable person, with good listening and communication skills, and an instinct to help others
  • You must be able to commute to Leek
