Highway Maintenance Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Technician to join our team in Grimsby. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, assessing, and prioritizing reactive maintenance works on the public highway, as well as identifying planned maintenance works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Highway Inspection Team to deliver programs of inspections and assessments to ensure the local authority discharges its statutory duty for the maintenance of the public highway.
- Identify programs of minor maintenance works to ensure the highway infrastructure is safe for users and protected as a valuable asset for the future.
- Investigate third-party insurance claims and provide detailed records and evidence for North East Lincolnshire's insurers, loss adjusters, and solicitors to comply with strict legal protocols.
- Undertake winter service decision-making duties.

Requirements:
- Strong experience in highway inspection and/or other highway-related disciplines
- Qualified to HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or relevant associated discipline
- Experience of supervising a small team of staff or experience of training or mentoring others
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Member of the Institute of Highway Engineers
- Full driving license and car available for use
