Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Farmfoods. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our shop, working closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Shop Manager in the overall management of the shop, including staff supervision, customer service, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve sales, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of retail assistants, providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Take ownership of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring that customers are looked after, deliveries are processed efficiently, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll, to ensure the shop is operating within budget.
- Support the Shop Manager with recruitment and induction of new team members, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
Requirements:
- A friendly, positive, and hardworking approach to work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Trustworthiness and reliability, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
- Previous experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor, preferably in a retail environment.
