Robotics Engineering Director

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our robotics team. As the Robotics Engineering Director, you will define, design, build, and test mobile robotics solutions that are integral to our state-of-the-art manufacturing platform. Collaborating closely with other technical leads, you will ensure seamless integration of robotic systems into our comprehensive automation solutions, shaping the future of cell therapy manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of robotics engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Oversee the development of advanced robotics systems, including Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and functional requirements.
  • Develop and execute engineering and testing plans, managing project timelines and resources effectively.
  • Drive the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as machine vision, advanced sensing, and networked communication protocols.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends to maintain the company's competitive edge in robotics and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive industry experience in robotics engineering and leadership of multidisciplinary teams, ideally using agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robotics, including AMRs and 6-DoF robotic arms, and advanced sensing technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++; familiarity with CI/CD methods is advantageous.
  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Experience with robotic prototyping software (e.g., ROS 1 or 2) and industrial communication protocols (e.g., MQTT).
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse technical teams.
  • Innovative mindset with flexibility in approach and problem-solving abilities.
