Health and Safety Specialist

Cherry Professional is seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a market-leading Civil Engineering company. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery of projects across the East Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough SHEQ site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and hazards.
- Support site teams in the preparation and review of critical paperwork, including Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and COSHH Assessments.
- Assist with incident reporting and investigation, as well as accident trend analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Review and support the development of Health, Safety, and Environmental-related documentation, such as the Construction Phase Plan and Environmental Management Plans.
- Liaise with external bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Agency, and clients, as directed by the HSEQT Manager.
- Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager to enhance the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental performance.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety, health, environment, and quality metrics to inform business decisions.
- Support site managers in delivering daily morning briefings to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay up-to-date with legislative requirements and best practices in safety, health, environment, and quality.
- Utilize auditing and inspection skills to recommend preventative actions and improve processes.
- Possess a solid understanding of quality auditing principles.
- Hold a NVQ Level 4 Qualification or equivalent in Health and Safety.
- Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
- Hold a full driving license with access to a vehicle.
