Job Overview
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Consultant General Surgeon with a specialization in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in general and laparoscopic surgery, as well as endoscopy skills. The successful appointee will join a forward-thinking Department, expanding the breadth and quality of the General Surgeon Service.
This is a permanent position, advertised to find the right candidate to fill an existing vacancy and enhance the General Surgery Department.
Main Responsibilities
- To deliver high-quality care to patients presenting to the Department.
- Participate in a 1:6 or 1:7 consultant on-call rota for emergency admissions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the efficiency and capacity of the Department, aiding in the recovery of waiting times following COVID.

Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- FRCS General Surgery or equivalent.
- Undertaken program of training acceptable to the Royal College of Surgeons for appointment to Consultant Status.
- Evidence of training in general laparoscopic surgery, such as cholecystectomy/hernia repair.
- Entry on the Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview), CESR, or European Community Rights.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is £105,504 to £139,882 per year, with 12 PA's per week.
