About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and committed Academic Support Specialist to work with students in the University of Southampton. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with special needs by providing essential note-taking services.
Responsibilities:
- Attend lectures and seminars to take accurate and legible notes for students with special needs.
- Review notes at the end of the lecture to ensure they are in a suitable format for the student to access effectively.
- Maintain a professional relationship with students and work within the policies and procedures of the institution.
- Work closely with Randstad to ensure the needs of individual students are met and any concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Have neat handwriting and be able to produce notes in a legible and presentable manner.
- Good typing skills and accurate spelling and grammar skills.
- Punctuality and reliability, with the ability to work quickly and under time restrictions.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ideal experience working with students with specific learning difficulties in higher or further education.
