We are seeking an experienced student veterinary nurse to join our team at Chapel House Veterinary Practice Chesterfield.
About the RoleThis is a 12-month fixed-term contract working 40 hours a week. As a key member of our nursing team, you will work closely with our Clinical Nursing Manager to provide high standards of client and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to in-patients, including pre-op care, monitoring, and recovery
- Assist veterinary surgeons with procedures and provide support to junior nursing staff and animal care/kennel assistants
- Participate in the training program of veterinary nurses and animal care/kennel assistants
- Ensure accurate records are kept, including medical records, anaesthetic sheets, and hospitalisation forms
- Participate in out-of-hours nursing rota and support with reception duties as needed
- Contribute to the cleaning and maintenance of the premises and patient areas
- Understand and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Commitment to continued professional development
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage projects through to completion, meeting deadlines and targets
