Job Title: Academic Coach

South Thames College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Coach to support learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs, disabilities, learning difficulties, or medical conditions. As an Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in enabling learners to successfully complete their qualifications, courses, and education, health, and care plan (EHCP) outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and mentoring to learners with diverse needs.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality written records of learner progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure learners receive comprehensive support.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive and accessible learning environments.
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Good administration and computer skills.
  • Willingness to achieve a GCSE/Level 2 or equivalent in English and Mathematics (if not already held).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
