Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and operational aspects of inventory management, ensuring service level targets are met, and building effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Inventory Management: Effectively manage all purchasing and associated operational aspects of inventory management, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and build effective relationships with suppliers, track shipments, and take vital actions in case of unusual delays.
  • Process Improvement: Embrace and participate in process improvement initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business, make recommendations for reports and process improvements.
  • Delivery Issue Management: Manage the processing of delivery issues from suppliers, including short/over/wrong product/damaged etc., in collaboration with the different warehouses.
  • Internal Customer Service: Maintain a high level of internal customer service, supporting customer services and other business functions when required.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Manage and drive improved supplier performance, using metrics, and manage weekly calls with suppliers to review performance and initiate/get well plans.
  • Autonomy and Proactivity: Be autonomous in supplier relationship management, especially when negotiation skills are required, and be proactive by contributing to improve the supplier performance report.
  • Training and Development: Participate in the training of new team members.
