Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Night Porter to join our Front Office team at Ashdown Park. As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring the smooth operation of the front office, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Services: Greet and assist guests arriving and departing the building in a professional and courteous manner.
- Car Parking and Luggage: Oversee the smooth running of the car parking areas, organize car valeting, reserve parking spaces as needed, and ensure car keys are stored securely and accessibly.
- Proactive and Efficient: Act in a proactive and efficient way when handling and storing luggage on arrival and departure.
- Local Knowledge: Ensure you possess or are keen to develop good local knowledge to provide information regarding transport, entertainment, and leisure available locally.
- Hotel Activities: Ensure you are aware of all in-house activities, conferences, and functions taking place in the hotel each evening/night.
- Guest Enquiries: Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries or complaints and keep the night manager informed.
- 24-hour Service: Ensure the hotel's promise of a 24-hour service is fulfilled by deputising for Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and Kitchen Department as per agreed standards.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Be aware of and knowledgeable concerning the Standard Operating Procedures for the role and ensure that all procedures are carried out to a high degree of efficiency.
- Warm and Friendly Welcome: Provide a warm, friendly welcome/au revoir to all our guests, and be both personable, attentive, and professional at all times.
- Excellent Communication: Have an excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
- Computer Literate: Be computer literate, ideally with experience in Opera Fidelio or similar advanced PMS systems.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate a clear understanding of the highest level of customer service.
- Initiative and Teamwork: Be willing to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team when required.
- Attention to Detail: Have good attention to detail.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role and comfortable carrying out night audits would be desired.
- Local Knowledge: Keen to learn about the local area and hotel product knowledge.
Requirements: Due to our rural location, you will need your own transport.
