As a highly skilled Clinical Physiology Consultant, you will play a key role in our Electrophysiology Department at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical physiology and experience working with cardiac devices, particularly CRM technology.

About the Job

The main responsibilities of this role include assisting cardiologists during Electrophysiology procedures, supporting the insertion of permanent pacemakers and other CRM devices, and monitoring patient parameters to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist cardiologists during Electrophysiology procedures, including ablation and implantation of permanent pacemakers, implantable loop and complex devices.
  2. Support the insertion of permanent pacemakers, implantable loop and complex devices, and be responsible for checks in the pacing follow-up clinic, focusing on device optimization.
  3. Monitor patient parameters and alert physicians to any changes, utilizing advanced knowledge of CRM devices and procedures.
  4. Lead device follow-up clinics, optimize devices, and escalate findings as necessary, maintaining high standards of patient care.
  5. Supervise Technician Led Cardiac Exercise Tolerance tests (ETT) and provide technical support, ensuring accurate results.
  6. Analyze 24-hour ambulatory ECG recorders, Blood pressure recorders, and Cardiac event recorders, reporting results according to departmental procedure, providing valuable insights.
Requirements
  • Degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
  • Significant experience as a Specialised Cardiac Physiologist, with advanced knowledge of CRM devices, procedures, and troubleshooting.
