About the Role:

Vision for Education - Newcastle is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a Secondary SEMH Provision in South Tyneside. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 English curriculum to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English lessons to Key Stage 3 pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behavior
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess and track pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support pupils
  • Contribute to the development of the SEMH Provision's English curriculum and resources

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behavior
  • QTS/QTLS and a passion for teaching English to Key Stage 3 pupils
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and develop positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
