Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and research-active Lecturer in Economics/Economic History to join our award-winning Business School and high-ranking Department of Economics at the University of Sussex.

About the Role

This permanent position is open to candidates for the Education and Research pathway, with a focus on conducting leading-edge research in economic history and applied economics. The successful candidate will have a doctorate or equivalent in economics and related subjects, with a strong track record of research and teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in economic history and applied economics, with a focus on publishing high-quality research outputs.
  • Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate students, including supervising doctoral students.
  • Contribute to departmental and university administration, including participating in departmental committees and working groups.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and assessments, with a focus on student engagement and learning outcomes.
Requirements

We welcome applications from candidates with a strong research background in economic history and applied economics. The successful candidate will have a doctorate or equivalent in economics and related subjects, with a strong track record of research and teaching experience.
