Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Tarmac's Hints Sand and Gravel Quarry in Staffordshire. As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Undertake plant maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all fixed plant associated areas across the Quarry.
  • Respond to fixed plant breakdowns, repair equipment, and minimize downtime while adhering to safety and maintenance plans.
  • Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
  • Utilize documents and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (QBE or equivalent experience accepted).
  • Experience of fabricating and welding.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, and National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
