About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our busy Scarborough Structures Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers on a wide range of projects, from concrete frame to steel frame, medium to high-rise design, and existing structures.

With a minimum of five years' experience in the UK industry, you will have a strong understanding of structural design principles and be proficient in software such as MasterSeries, Tekla, CSC FastTrack, or Strand7. You will be skilled at preparing, detailing, and reviewing drawings, as well as supervising CAD Technicians in the preparation of these drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, refurbishment, and industrial sectors.
  • Provide proactive leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers in other disciplines, such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design.
  • Supervise, mentor, and check the work of graduates, engineers, and technicians.
  • Project manage a variety of projects, working with clients and other engineers to inform and support building design aspirations, functionality, and architectural form.
  • Set a strong example of client care and general consultancy, supporting the existing team of engineers and graduates to do the same.
  • Maintain responsibility for the financial performance of your projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design.
Requirements
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Hands-on design experience and the ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
