Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Disease Ecology to join our team at Naufrp. The successful candidate will have a strong background in disease ecology and a proven track record of research and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a strong and externally funded research program in disease ecology
  • Contribute to a proposed new interdisciplinary initiative at Naufrp to address environmental resilience and global health
  • Foster interdisciplinary and multisectoral collaborations with scientists at Naufrp and other institutions and government agencies
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in disease ecology and related fields
  • Contribute to the development of a new graduate certificate program in One Health
Requirements
  • PhD in wildlife, ecology, biology, environmental/public health, or related field
  • Expertise in the ecology of infectious diseases, particularly those that are zoonotic, in free-ranging vertebrates
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary teams and a proven track record of publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong teaching and research skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with field-based epidemiology, eco-epidemiology, applied eco-immunology, climate change science, socioeconomics, bioinformatics, arthropod-vectored disease ecology, public health, pathobiology, and other disciplines related to the ecology and emergence of infectious diseases
  • Skills in vector-borne disease ecology, global change and disease dynamics, urban disease ecology, and experience with artificial intelligence in research
