What You Can Expect
As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments. Your work will encompass both the development of new products and the maintenance of existing ones. You will lead small scope projects, multiple small projects, or portions of a large project as a core team member.
How You'll Create Impact
- You will lead the development of small projects, identifying main tasks required to complete project assignments according to Design Control procedures.
- You will design or direct design work for manufacturability, inspectability, and optimum cost.
- You will conduct or participate in root cause analysis for problem-solving.
- You will contribute to generating a comprehensive protocol for testing/analyzing the product.
- You will coordinate product evaluation with surgeons.
- You will prepare definitive new product specifications or modify existing specifications.
- You will generate or update design assurance documentation for the product.
- You will complete stress analysis on new or existing designs.
- You will generate and/or manage the creation of prototype models to evaluate new design concepts.
What Makes You Stand Out
- You have full working knowledge of and high-level experience with new product development, including project management of medium to complex projects.
- You have demonstrated ability to methodically investigate, determine appropriate solutions, and resolve problems using current and new technologies.
- You can develop project schedules and assess and manage cross-functional teams' progress on assignments relative to project schedules.
- You can process customer complaints, engineering changes, and nonconforming products, and make recommendations based upon business principles.
- You possess professional, concise, tactful, and sensitive communication skills, accomplishing objectives when communicating with internal personnel, external customers, and vendors.
- You have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- You have working knowledge of drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Location
This role is located in Warsaw, Indiana, USA, and requires occasional travel to other locations within the United States and abroad.
