Finance Administrator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our team at the University of Kent. As a key member of our Finance Shared Services team, you will play a vital role in providing financial support to our Divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide transactional support to Divisions, working closely with the Finance Officer and other team members to ensure efficient and compliant financial services delivery.
  • Exhibit excellent customer care skills, utilizing the TopDesk service management system and other finance systems to deliver high-quality services.
  • Promote adherence to University finance processes and procedures, working with Divisional colleagues to ensure compliance.
  • Effectively deliver transactional services, including purchase orders, goods receipting, supplier invoice approvals, credit card purchases, and staff expense claims.
  • Collaborate with functional specialists to deliver on divisional service/support requests, including timesheet processing, staff travel booking, field trips, scholarships, internal catering, and financial laboratory activities.
Requirements:
  • GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
  • Foundation level financial qualification (e.g. AAT) and actively studying towards full qualification, or willingness to undertake such studies.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in MS Office packages.
  • Experience of answering enquiries, particularly of a financial nature.
