About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Category Assistant to join our Trading team at Booker Group. As a Category Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Product team to ensure we have the right range of products at the right price to drive cash profit and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Category Manager and the wider team, including building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal departments, external suppliers, and customers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and data, including product information, sales data, and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Trading team to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support the Category Manager in the development of business cases and presentations to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Highly detail-oriented and accurate, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
