We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planning Engineer to join our team at Locomo EV. As a key member of our transportation planning team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing transportation plans that meet the needs of our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive transportation assessments and statements to inform transportation planning decisions.
  • Develop and coordinate travel plans to ensure efficient and safe transportation of people and goods.
  • Prepare and present technical data and drawings to stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Conduct junction capacity assessments using advanced software tools, such as ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Review and verify the quality and accuracy of work produced by junior team members.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement transportation plans that meet client needs.
  • Support Team Leaders in providing comprehensive advice to clients on transportation matters.
  • Conduct site appraisals and visits to gather data and provide input to written reports and presentational materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper files on projects.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant subject, such as Transport Planning, Geography, or Civil Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in UK transportation planning standards and processes.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT).
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Good numeracy skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (desirable).
  • Working knowledge of ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG.
Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex data findings clearly.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and data.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good commercial understanding.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage own workload.
  • Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients.
