Job Overview

To provide strategic leadership and support to the Global Majority NMAHP workforce, ensuring they have the skills and education to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.

The successful candidate will coordinate the development of professional practice within the Global Majority NMAHP workforce, working closely with Trust leaders, managers, and the Practice Education Team to welcome new internationally educated registered practitioners, create a sense of belonging, and support career development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Global Majority NMAHP workforce in developing patient-centered and innovative practice across the Trust.
  • Lead on specific professional practice development projects as identified by the Associate Chief Nurse for Workforce & Education.
  • Work closely with divisions and corporate teams to develop and implement initiatives enhancing staff and patient experience and quality of care.
  • Ensure the objectives detailed in the Nursing, Midwifery, and AHP strategy are delivered within the Professional Education Team.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement competency-based frameworks for the Global Majority NMAHP workforce.
  • Support nurses when concerns about practice or performance are raised, in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Professional qualification to a minimum of degree level with up-to-date professional registration.
  • Specialist knowledge of Education in Practice at Masters level or willingness to undertake.
  • Completed Practice Assessor training/preparation.

Desirable Criteria

  • Formal coaching qualification.
  • Evidence of having completed formal leadership training.

Experience

  • Broad range of post-qualifying clinical experience.
  • Extensive experience of teaching, supervising, and assessing healthcare students in the practice setting.
  • Experience of working across professional and organizational boundaries.
  • Practical experience of facilitating change.
  • Experience of staff management/supervision.
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of preceptorship process.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage and build effective relationships at all levels in stakeholder organizations.
  • Ability to present to large groups of people.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of different methods/styles for teaching and learning.
  • Detailed understanding of a range of regulatory body requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and framework.
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Understanding of quality improvement methodology and outcome measurement.
