About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial functions in campus academic and non-academic buildings, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Operate and maintain power-operated custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from buildings and dispose of them properly.
  • Unlock and lock building doors as assigned.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of events and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
