Job Title: Assistant Project Manager Nuclear

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Bristol. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Nuclear Power Programmes in new build at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and record meetings with key project stakeholders (internal & external).
  • Support, coordinate and attend Multi-Disciplinary Team and Joint Management Team meetings.
  • Organise and coordinate Technical Engineering, Cost, Contractor and Scheduling meetings on behalf of the Project Manager.
  • Encourage and promote collaborative working behaviours to maintain efficient and effective delivery relationships between Design, Procurement, Pre-construction Planning and Construction teams.
  • Produce all Project documentation required to successfully deliver the Project scope.
  • Develop and implement management systems, as required, supporting delivery and quality as specified by the Project Controls Department.
  • Ensure that wider NNB arrangements are implemented, as appropriate, within the scope of works and advise the management team of any necessary actions to ensure this.
  • Facilitate internal communications within the Project Delivery Team and the wider HPC Project teams.
  • Assist the Project Manager in delivering the List of Deliverables (LOD).
  • Assist the Project Manager in applying the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM).
Requirements:
  • Implementation of project management and organisational skills, gained through practical experience and preferably recognised with a qualification.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence and work collaboratively within complex, internal and external, multidisciplinary groups.
  • Ability to display and communicate a logical thought process, with excellent analytical skills, including capabilities for budget analysis and forecasting.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Member of the Association of Project Managers or able to demonstrate an understanding of the APM project management Body of Knowledge principles.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Case and its purpose.
