About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at University Hospital Ayr. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for patients, staff, and visitors, as well as providing hospitality services for meetings and functions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals for patients, staff, and visitors, including therapeutic diets and meal services.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Monitor and record data for HACCP and Environmental Health purposes.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective meal service.
- Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance the dining experience.
- Experience in catering, preferably within an NHS environment.
- City and Guilds 706/1 or an S/NVQ qualification in food preparation and cooking.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
